Born in Manhattan, New York, Dominic-Xander Marchéford is the son of Darren Marchéford, a graduate of Yale Law School and lawyer at Debevoise & Plimpton and Valentina “Choi Jieun” Marchéford, a former New York representative and popular political author. Dominic is the oldest of two siblings, having a younger brother named Diomede. He grew up Roman Catholic, with his parents placing repeat emphasis on the importance of family and the value of Asian-American success. Both Dominic and his brother experienced intense stress from their parents’ high expectations from an early age. Further, both were raised in a home that played more into the partnership of marriage rather than a spell-bound loving commitment. His father was staunchly Republican and his mother a Democrat; the home was guaranteed to be filled with lively debate every night. Despite their political differences, both were supporters of the others careers— especially with Valentina having to live in D.C. for good stretches of time. While Dominic’s parents had moments of affection, they did not always assert their love for each other, but referred to each other as their ‘partner in greatness’. And so romance has never been an important factor in Dominic’s relationships; yet any partnership, sexual or civil, will have respect and drive. If the person does not enhance his career, he finds it difficult to categorize them as important— or of his calibre.

Diomede, and subsequently Dominic, both attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. Thereafter, Dominic attended Columbia University from which he graduated summa cum laude with a B.A in Economics, and a minor in Public Policy and Management. He earned his Juris Doctor in 2010 from Yale Law School. He spent a year clerking for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York City, where he met Jasmine Lewis, the Assistant FBI Director in charge of the Manhattan field office. They got married and subsequently relocated to Washington D.C. after Dominic accepted a position as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia and Jasmine accepted a promotion to the Washington D.C. field office. They have one daughter together: Florence Marchéford, who was born in 2012. The couple had wanted 2-3 children, but Jasmine’s stress during pregnancy made a huge risk. She was paranoid she would possibly be terminated for underwhelming performance, especially given that she was pregnant in her first year of her promotion. Dominic and Jasmine decided they would only have one more child.
But the long hours and new baby stress on top of their eagerness to please their new bosses gradually took precedence over family life– including their marriage. Though they tried, Jasmine had a miscarriage after which she told her husband Florence was likely to be their only daughter.

He then moved to the Justice Department as Associate Deputy Attorney General and Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General for the Criminal Division. He believed he could motivate his wife into climbing the ranks and securing the FBI Director nomination, with himself eventually maneuvering to the Attorney General nomination. However, his wife was more keen on remaining in a position that saw more street action: investigation, arrests, and cooperation with the CIA. In short, her sights were set on Assistant Director of the Criminal Investigative Division or perhaps Executive Director, but no higher. The couple had a volatile history of clashing, but the situation worsened when Dominic was named general counsel to the FBI by the then Director in POTUS’ first term. With Dominic unwilling to compromise with her lack of motivation, and Jasmine feeling strangled by his high expectations, the couple finalized their divorce. Florence lives in Washington D.C. with her father, while Jasmine relocated to the New York field office.

❝ ㅤI believe you find life such a problem because you think there are good people and bad people. You’re wrong, of course. There are, always and only, the bad people, but some of them are on opposite sides...

After serving in the Office of the Legal Counsel, Dominic was appointed Deputy Director in 2014. He had been involved in a casual relationship with a male attorney in his office, but broke it off relatively quickly into his promotion— not wanting to jeopardize his position. Not so long after, he received the Edmund J. Randolph Award, the Justice Department’s highest award for public service and leadership. It was at this time that the POTUS nominated Dominic Marchéford for the Directorship of the FBI with the departure of the term-limited Director. The Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously recommended to confirm him as the next Director, and he was officially confirmed by the Senate with bipartisan support.
Dominic-Xander Marchéford is the first Asian born to serve as the incumbent FBI Director. The Democrats are ecstatic. Dominic has made it, and rubbing salt in the wound of his ex-wife is just an added bonus.

The next three years roll like clockwork. Initially, the administration was reeling from the blow to intelligence with the resignation of the corrupt CIA director in 2012. But Dominic runs the FBI like a well-oiled machine, serving to revitalize the faith the executive branch places in federal agencies. He is reassuring, calm, collected and most of all— ruthless. Under the name of Dominic Marchéford, the FBI has prioritized economic crime and public corruption. He has increased the number of agents working public corruption cases, and convicted more than 1,618 federal, state and local officials. His economic background has him leaning towards dealings with open corporate fraud investigations, including re-prioritizing criminal programs to address federal financial crises. He is responsible for facilitating an original concept for combatting mortgage fraud by use of property flipping analytical computer application, first developed by the Washington Field Office. He wants to implement more sophisticated technology and investigative techniques; funding more undercover operations, which he views as essential in collecting “the most valuable of evidence”. The FBI maintains that counterterrorism is also top priority, but by no means the only priority. Threats outside the United States are monitored and persistent. However, Dominic seeks to delegate concern specifically to terrorists at home: young men in communities in the US that are being radicalized and recruited within. Perhaps, his most controversial release has been equating the rampant gun violence attacks on communities with domestic terrorism. “The FBI needs to respond better to domestic terror,” he says, “especially when these youths are posting vile and wicked content on the internet that has people saying later— why didn’t anyone do something? Well, I’m going to be doing something.”

... with that being said, I am not generally bad. I am just a captive of my own identity, living in a prison of my own creation. ❞

• Like what Michael Faudet wrote – “he was a curious boy, a wanderer, who spent his summers chasing fluttering pieces of prose and eating waffle”, this could also be said for Dominic-Xander Marchéford.
He is not afraid to speak his mind and is aggressively stubborn, refusing to back down in any subject. He also has a thirst for words, the wonderful things they can do and so uses the “long ones” often.
Born a Taurus man, Dominic was also gifted with a very strong will and unwavering courage. Thus, he is rarely afraid to do what he wants and chases it regardless of how challenging it is. Along with that, his ambition isn’t easily satisfied since he usually aims for the stars, a trait he also encourages his surroundings to have.

For all my roleplay partners:
Never hold your muse back.
For real.
If your muse wants to lash out at mine, or kiss mine, or tell mine a horrible secret, or slam mine against a wall — go for it. Don’t ever feel like I’ll get your reply and judge you or your muse. Your character has specific feelings, instincts, and desires, and if they want to do something, don’t hold them back. I want to roleplay with your muse in their entirety, the whole truth of your character, not a watered-down version.
Never feel nervous — just let it happen as it happens, and it’ll all be great.

You do not have to:
• get to my thread just because you’re working on other replies.
• avoid posting often just because we’re both online and it’s your turn.
• push yourself to write something just because you see me online.

I understand:
• that sometimes you only get muse for certain threads.
• you may not know what to reply with at the moment.
• some threads you have are in an exciting moment and you’d rather put your focus into those.

RPing is for fun.
Don’t force yourself to get stuff done.
Your replies are worth the wait.
